Canon Tokina Opera 16-28mm Lens: Distinguished by its brilliant design, the Tokina Opera 16-28mm is a flexible, wide-angle zoom suitable for landscape, architectural and astrophotography applications. It has a constant aperture of f/2.8 to be able to work in different lighting conditions and to use shallow depth of field techniques.
The optical design incorporates aspherical, low-dispersion glass elements, which help control distortion and color fringing throughout the zoom range to produce sharp, clear, color-accurate images. Multi-coating was also applied to individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting for improved contrast when working in bright and backlit light conditions.
Complementing the optical design is a sophisticated focusing system, which uses a DC motor, a Silent Drive module, a GMR magnetic sensor and an internal focusing design to provide especially quiet and fast focusing performance to meet the needs of images and video.
A one-touch focus clutch mechanism also allows for quick switching between auto and manual focus settings. Additionally, this 16-28mm f/2.8 sports a nine-blade diaphragm to produce a nice bokeh quality and has a built-in lens hood to protect the bulbous front element from stray light.
