Canon introduces the RF-S 7.8mm f/4 STM Dual VR Lens, an entry-level stereoscopic VR lens designed for anyone looking to turn everyday life into augmented reality with the Canon EOS VR system. Compatible with EOS APS-C mirrorless cameras such as the EOS R7, the autofocus-enabled lens has a 60° field of view similar to human vision and produces photos and videos viewable on popular headsets such as the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3.
The RF-S 7.8mm f/4 STM Dual VR is driven by a gear-type stepping motor (STM) with a dual-lens autofocus mechanism, driving the left and right lenses quickly, quietly, and in unison. This makes autofocus as easy to operate as with a regular lens. Available for both stills and video, the electronic focus/control ring and left-right focus difference adjustment switch allow the option to control focus on both lenses or just the left lens. The lens is compatible with Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF autofocus system, and also supports full-time manual focusing.
